TargetmiR: an InfoBase of microRNA Targets

Abstract

MicroRNAs are versatile small RNA molecules which can imperfectly bind to messengerRNA and cause regulation of gene expression at post-transcriptional level. The spectrum of messenger RNAs that miRNAs target is vivid. Information on microRNA targets would be helpful in understanding the intricate gene regulatory mechanisms mediated through microRNAs.

TargetmiR is a relational infobase and registry for microRNA target related information, and has a user friendly web-based interface. In addition to target information, it also hosts comprehensive data on microRNAs, thus making it unique.

TargetmiR is a comprehensive InfoBase and registry for microRNAs and microRNA targets. We hope TargetmiR would be a useful resource for biologists and bioinformaticians alike.
